Abstract:
The main problems in sales of mechanical engineering products are revealed. The basic prerequisites for using electronic trading platforms in Ukraine are analyzed. The essence of the category “electronic trading platform” is disclosed. It is proved that using Internet tools allows enterprises to achieve greater economic efficiency at significantly lower costs. The main electronic trading platforms in the Ukrainian market are identified. The analysis of electronic trading platforms suitable for using by mechanical engineering enterprises is carried out. The advantages and disadvantages of using electronic trading platforms suitable for selling products by mechanical engineering enterprises are considered. The expedience of and prospects for using electronic trading platforms as an instrument to promote sales of mechanical engineering products are justified. The features of mechanical engineering products, which should be taken into account to sell them on electronic trading platforms, are revealed. The key players — operators of trading platforms – in the Ukrainian market and their main users are identified. Objective and subjective reasons of expedience of using electronic trading platforms to sell mechanical engineering products are established. The general trends in the development of e-commerce and mechanical engineering sector are identified. There investigated the work of electronic trading platforms through analyzing the structure and quantity of goods that were sold on them, and the structure and quantity of goods that visitors of electronic trading platforms were searching for. It is proved that sales of mechanical engineering products using electronic trading platforms is significantly limited, but will grow in the future, which may be achieved by differentiating electronic trading platforms depending on the categories of consumers of mechanical engineering products. It is found out that the main reasons for possible intensification of sales of mechanical engineering products via the Internet are a continuous ramping up of network users visiting the platforms; growth in the consumer commitment to the implementation of information technologies; expansion of sales potential by covering new segments of the market, other than the common ones, as well as attraction of customers to segments that are new for them.
