Abstract: The aim of the article is to study the influence of economic globalization on the formation of land relations in agriculture. It is substantiated that globalization of the economy is a multidimensional process which covers all spheres of public life and fundamentally changes the principles and nature of production as well as the specifics of land use. It is proved that the influence of global challenges on the economic, technological and economic features of the use of agricultural land is not only significant now but also has a tendency to increase. Globalization is manifested in the agrarian sector of the economy to the greatest extent through the intensification of production, development of a bioeconomy, introduction of elements of precision agriculture, use of geographic information systems, capitalization of agricultural production and monopolization of rental relations, application of a rotational system in the implementation of basic business processes. Monitoring the use of agricultural land, based on the example of five regions of the world (Australia, Asia, Africa, Europe, North and South America), made it possible to identify the main modern trends in the development of land relations: intensification of land use, increase in the area of agricultural land used for technically challenging energy-intensive crops, shift in the geographical boundaries of agricultural areas, expansion of regions with irrigated agriculture, use of grains and oilseeds as alternative energy sources, increase of land banks by agrarian holdings, introduction of innovative systems for managing the state of crops. Practical recommendations on the adaptation of land users to modern global challenges are proposed. It is substantiated that, in accordance with the provisions of the globalization theory of land relations, solving the problems of providing the population with food and industry with raw materials is possible both through internal transformations of the existing land resources and the process of buying and selling agricultural land on world markets.
Keywords: globalization, agricultural land, land market, efficiency, food security, intensification.
